Minimum Credit Score for an FHA Loan

To purchase a home with FHA the minimum credit score for an FHA loan needs to be 500.  Someone with a score between 500 to 579, according to FHA are required to put 10% down for a loan at 90% of the purchase price.

To get maximum financing, a score if 580 or better is required.  Most lenders in the Columbus area are requiring at least a 620 for a 3.5 % down payment FHA loan, but I do have lenders that are offering 3.5% down FHA program with a credit score of at least 600 and OHFA which offers down payment assistance might be another option.

  1. I been trying to buy a house but people keep saying my credit score is to low and they want it to be 640 it’s 509 but I have gotten so items delete off there
